Lynelle Kenned is a South African Soprano opera singer who is no stranger to the stage. Operatically, she regularly performs locally and abroad. Lynelle has established herself not only in the opera world but is making her mark on the entertainment industry as a whole.
Taking an early interest in music, she formed part of the South African Youth Choir and Stellenberg Girls Choir, the latter of which was crowned the 2006 ‘Choir of the World’ at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in Wales.
As a star graduate of the UCT Opera School and a member of the award-winning South African Sopranos, Lynelle Kenned has been entertaining audiences for years from the local Baxter, Artscape and State theatres, to Brown University and even the British Parliament in various soprano roles ranging from Handel to Mozart, Puccini, Rossini and Janacek.
In 2012, she became a runner-up in the Top Billing Presenter Search. Following the competition, she joined Pasella as their latest presenter and expanded her skills by adding voice over artist, MC and motivational speaker to her vast repertoire.
In 2013 she made her acting debut in the musical theatre production of Blood Brothers, a David Kramer adaptation of the West End’s smash hit playing both the roles of Ms Johnstone (swing) and Mrs Lyons, followed by the role of Mattie Allen in the first run of Orpheus in Africa. Lynelle career highlights include performing with Katherine Jenkins, and master classes with Juilliard’s Brian Zeger.
